Foundation Curriculum
Our foundation subjects curriculum is a creative and thematic approach to learning that is mapped to the new 2014 Primary National Curriculum ensuring comprehensive coverage of national expectations. Our curriculum is delivered through a termly theme which provides a rich menu of exciting and motivating learning activities that make creative links between all aspects of children's learning.
We believe that it is essential for children to be encouraged to use their imagination and apply their learning to a range of engaging contexts. Our foundation curriculum provides lots of learning challenges throughout the academic year that requires children to think critically, apply themselves creatively and express their knowledge and understanding effectively across the curriculum.
At Springfield Primary Academy we use Chris Quigley’s Essentials Curriculum to ensure that we are able to deliver a progressive curriculum. In using the Essentials Curriculum it is assured that full coverage of the National Curriculum is delivered.
